Smax has signed a deal with the Promise Group of Companies. Promise is a newly-formed group whose principal business activities relate to mortgage and other loan products. Smax is delighted to work with Promise, as he will be supporting their charity Promise Dreams which works to raise funds for children in need throughout the UK.

Support has also been provided by Starchild UK, who provide special toys and resources for special needs children, vehicle importers Yank Wheels and Shropshire American Car Club. Longtime friend and Funny Car sponsor Ritchie of Fuel Records has pitched in to help the cause. "Although Ritchie's allegiance remains with the Funny Cars and the Shockwave team, he will be organising some Smax/Fuel merchandise to be sold across Europe", says Smax. "I am delighted to have solid friends who have saved the day. I am looking forward to working with these partners and their committment will allow us to compete strongly throughout 2004. "We are working hard to get everything completed to come out stong and proud this weekend. We have made quite significant changes to the car and we are aiming to hit the numbers from the start of the season. I have a fantastic team around me of top tuner Al Jackson, Spiky Sparky on clutch, Assistant Crew Chief Stuart McDonald and Ian Pellant on heads, Richard McDonald on clutch, Rob Inglis on bottom end with help from buddy Alan who will also help Rich on clutch, the Belfast Brothers Ray and Brian Gardner and Team Manager Paul Townsend will all pitch in to do the rest. Knut will be calling the shots. I'm definitely on a mission this year, and we're confident of getting the full potential out of our super crew. Being part of the Knut family means we have the ability to call on the experience of the other team members and vice versa.
