"The Grand Bend Motorplex is ninety minutes from my home", says Smax. "I could have been driving Grant Flowers' Top Fuel Dragster as he was sick with shingles. When I got off the phone I was packing my firesuit, however Grant felt much better by Friday and was able to drive. I still had a fabulous weekend spectating with my boys Aidan, Ronan and Azzy and hanging around with the other Top Fuel teams including Scotty Cannon who won the event.

"It was the best to bump into good friends Dave Bryant and Neil Titheridge helping Terry Haddock who won the previous event in Edmonton.
I am hoping to do a deal with Terry for the next leg of the Canadian tour near Toronto in September. Ex-Smax team member Belfast Ray Gardner, now nicknamed Father Ted, flew over to help the Patons who live ten minutes from me. Ray worked on Tim Horton's Top Fuel Dragster so it was a blast to see him and enjoy brekky!
"Thanks again to all the well-wishers who missed us at the Main Event.
Keep the E-Mails flowing, we miss you all."
